Samsung Releases SL720 With HD Video Recording
Samsung is back with a new digital camera that combines innovative technology with user-friendly features into one package. Dubbed as the SL720, this stylish camera sports a 12.2MP image sensor, a 28mm wide-angle lens with 5x optical zoom and a 3.0-inch TFT LCD screen. Other advanced features include Dual Image Stabilization, Face Detection, Smile Detection, Blink Detection, an HDMI connector and the capability to record 720p HD video in H.264 format. The Samsung SL720 will become available in August 2009 for a retail price of £199 ($325).

BI ExacuTrack One GPS Tracking
We hope you really never have to wear one of these - however if your options are wear this or go to jail then maybe not such a bad thing. Law enforcement agencies in the U.S. may soon start using this device called BI ExacuTrack One. It just passed through FCC tests which means it is good to go.
The company behind this ‘involuntary’ GPS tracking solution - BI - already supports more than a thousand correctional agencies around the world.
Their latest product, BI ExacuTrack One, usually mounts on the ankle of the offender, has a really long battery life, provides web interface for tracking, and is lightweight and rugged.
Different from traditional live GPS tracking system ExacuTrack can also work with a local radio receiver:
ExacuTrack One includes an option for a cordless transmitting device, called a beacon, that is pending patent approval. Designed for flexibility, the beacon enhances the system’s reliability and reduces costs and power consumption. The beacon is installed in the client’s home, place of work, school or other designated location. When the individual on ExacuTrack One enters an area where a beacon is located, the system switches modes from GPS tracking to traditional radio-frequency monitoring, a very reliable communication mode. When the person exits the beacon range, the system immediately shifts back to GPS tracking.
Navigon which has quit the North American for the time being is still pushing out pretty decent GPS navigation systems in Europe. Take for example the latest Navigon 8410 which was just announced. This new premium model is voice controlled, comes with DVB-T, photo-realistic navigation and much more.
The form factor of the new Navigon 8410 has changed quite a bit from the previous high end models however the sexy brushed high-grade steel, which surrounds the 5″ touchscreen display has stayed. NAVIGON is probably the first to actually use mineral glass with their screen which can react to the slightest touch instead of pressure.

LG's LX290 for Sprint touts "compact and sleek productivity"
'Compact and sleek productivity' might be a bit over the top, but the bottom line is this: at $29.99 on contract after rebates, LG's new LX290 for Sprint is one of the cheapest ways to get Sprint Navigation and email access in your pocket. The slider packs a 1.3 megapixel camera for basic shooting needs, instant messaging capability, AGPS (naturally), a 320 x 240 display, and a 2.5mm audio jack -- we would've preferred 3.5, of course, but at that bargain-basement price, we'll take what we can get. The phone is available now, so go on, get productive.

Sony Ericsson W518a completes the trifecta; also hitting AT&T on July 19th
Sony’s Ericsson’s day in the sun continues with the announcement of the AT&T-bound W518a. Slim and sleek, this clamshell Walkman phone packs as much music-centric functionality as it can into a tight little package. Highlights include ‘Shake Control’ technology that allows users to shuffle, skip and control volume by shaking the handset, and ‘Gesture Control’, which lets users ignore incoming calls or snooze alarms by waving a hand over the camera lens. Pretty sweet. Beyond that, the W518a touts a host of social networking features — just like every other handset in the world these days — and of course the beloved Walkman music player. T-Mobile Samsung Highlight gets official, July release
